Kaslo & Slocan Station

The Kaslo and Slocan Railway was a 3 foot gauge line built by the Great Northern R.R. in British Columbia, Canada in the 1890s to haul silver, zinc and lead ore from the mines in the Slocan Valley  and Sandon to Kaslo on Kootenay Lake.

The Kaslo depot was typical of many stations along the branch lines of North America. Note that the   K & S depot was at the beginning of the line to Sandon so there was no need for an operator’s bay to watch for passing trains. If your depot will be on a through line, you may want to add the optional operator’s bay to ease the work of your harried station agent.
