Gallows Frame Turntable
|
The drawing resembles actual practice, as shown in various model railroad books and magazines, and is intended to look realistic from a few feet away. The construction has been simplified to make it sturdy and ease building, but not to the point where the structure looks toy like. This turntable is based on the Southern Pacific turntable at Medoc, California. It is very close to scale but uses a simple turning mechanism that is readily available commercially; a household base, commonly used for lazy susans in kitchen cabinets. |
