This is a very large model as the original engine house was 60 feet (18.3 m) wide by just over 125 feet (38 m) long,          32” x 67” in G scale, 35.5” x 74” in Fine scale. It will hold 3 of your largest locomotives or 6 smaller engines, and it can readily be built to just half length if you only require a smaller engine shelter.

The original structure appears to have been of brick, and you can model this with brick overlays from Plastruct or, if you are not modeling the RGS, you can paint the structure a light, weathered grey as if it were a poured concrete building. In either case it will serve as a solid engine house that will protect your valuable locomotives from the weather.
