Hardwick Covered Railroad Bridge

The design is based on a actual railroad bridge near Hardwick, Vermont. The 98 footer was built in 1908 to span the Lamoine River, and used the Town-Pratt lattice truss, as did many other r.r. bridges. We have used the simpler Town lattice truss on the model to ease construction.

The plans were great and easy to follow along with. I did make a couple modifications:        Increase the angle of the upper outside edge of the portal side, changed the pitch of the roof (slightly), added interior boards approx. 12 - 15 feet on both portals and a matching base angle on the interior side of the portal.
